Pesky Grass Seeds!
With this beautiful rain, comes spring grass and dreaded grass seeds...

Grass seeds can travel very quickly and can cause permanent damage to airways and lungs. This is life-threatening and exploratory surgery is often the only option to save the dog.

Please make sure to check all parts of your dog after playing in the grass to avoid a pesky grass seed. Symptoms can include persistent licking or sneezing, redness, swelling, limping, soreness, shaking, scratching, coughing, pain when urinating, blood, difficulties breathing or hind limb instability to name just a few.

If you feel that your pet may have a pesky buried grass seed- please book an appointment with our Maffra 5147 1177 or Sale 5144 3100 Clinics asap.

Staff pet time!!! Up next we have two very special fur babies! Rocco and Remi. Rocco is a 4 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, he has given blood donations and saved many lives! He enjoys long runs through the paddocks, sun baking and just hanging around with his humans. He doesn’t enjoy when the cows chase him or when his little sister (Remi) gets him in trouble.
Next we have Remi, she is a 1 and a half year old German Short Hair pointer. Remi loves running, hunting and swimming. Remi dislikes always having to listen to her owner and she has a faulty immune system. These 2 amazing dogs belong to Jodie who is one of our vet nurses at the Maffra clinic.
